Duties

  • Implementing proof of concept, prototypes and production-grade software
  • Implement new features into existing APIs
  • Create new REST APIs and work as part of an Agile team
  • Work with technical peers on database/web application design, development, implementation and integration projects
  • Creating unit and functional tests
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

 

Technical Skills & Experience

  • 2-3 years experience in Software Development
  • Good knowledge of .Net Framework and coding in C#
  • Good  knowledge of SOAP and Rest APIs
  • Good  knowledge in Messaging Protocols
  • Good  knowledge in Agile Methodologies
  • Good  knowledge in Software Versioning and Revision Control System such as SVN and GIT
  • Good  knowledge in Issue & Project Tracking for Software Teams such as JIRA
  • Detail-oriented analytical and critical thinking
  • Good oral and written communication skills

 

Desired Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience or good knowledge in .Net Core

 

Education

  • In possession of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

  • Develop web-based applications using a .NET framework
  • Implement new features into existing systems (inc. websites)
  • Create new web applications and work as part of an Agile team
  • Work with technical peers on database/web application design, development, implementation and integration projects
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
  • Create project documents, test documents and perform testing of applications as needed
  • Work with software development test engineers to fully automate application testing and high-quality development and configuration
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

 

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Good knowledge of .Net Framework and coding in C#
  • Have an understanding of HTML and CSS, and JavaScript/JQuery
  • Strong, detail-oriented analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

MCAST IICT Student delviers website for CRBP

MCAST IICT student Mac Patrick Gauci designed, developed and published a new website for the "Children Right to Both Parents" (CRBP). This NGO's objectives are to promote the principle that it is in the best interest of the child to have adequate access to both parents. It is the Child’s right to be given the opportunity to build a strong and meaningful relationship with both parents.  The Children’s Rights to Both Parents aims to encourage parents to actively engage in shared parenting.

Verdala International School – Junior IT Administrator Vacancy

The Junior I.T. Administrator shall assist and support the Head of I.T. in its charge to provide, operate and maintain computing and telecommunication facilities, equipment and services that meet the needs of the administrative, educational and research programs of the school. The Junior I.T. Administrator shall be a team player, easy to work with, organised, self-motivated and self-conscious. He / she should have a thorough understanding of computer systems and networks.


Reports to:

The Junior I.T. Administrator is a full-time staff position reporting directly to the Head of I.T.


Responsibilities Include:

  • To design and help build up computer network systems
  • Day-to-day end-user software support
  • To maintain computer networks in the school
  • To provide appropriate technical support to teachers, administrators, support staff and students in a timely manner
  • To install and continually improve computer equipment
  • Hardware installation and troubleshooting of desktop / laptop devices
  • Wi-Fi and cabled network support and troubleshooting
  • School's website and other online services administration
  • Perform such duties consistent with professional competence and position as may from time to time be needed

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Good hardware troubleshooting knowledge of desktop / laptop devices
  • Excellent understanding of client operating systems, Microsoft Office applications and physical networks
  • Knowledge and experience of WAN and LAN networks
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Servers and Active Directory
  • Basic HTML and image editing experience
  • ECDL certified and holds a diploma in I.T. (MQF level 4 or above)
  • Experience on G Suite applications will be considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding CCNA and MCSA qualifications
